Its composition typically includes three main components: bitumen (around 50–70%), water, and an emulsifier (about 0.3–1%). Widely used in road construction and maintenance, emulsion bitumen is particularly effective for applications such as surface dressing, tack coats, prime coats, and slurry seals. By eliminating the need for heating during application, it reduces both energy usage and emissions.
